Natural splits are all a part of the Japanese Yakisugi process that we’re inspired from. That has been applied to the outer surface of the bowl and they certainly add to the wabi sabi. The process we use was initially developed through many hours of research and experimentation at the workshop. The bowl has some ripples as an added detail.
